What Type of Bride Are You?

Most brides have dreamed about their wedding ever since they were a little girl in pigtails using a pillowcase for a veil.  Given the fact that most weddings have been in the planning stages for longer than the relationship, realizing your dream wedding is a huge event!  The best way to ensure the wedding you are planning best showcases your personality, relationship, and tastes is to first answer the question: What type of bride are you?  The answers are phenomenally different, from an old fashioned classic bride who wants sweet and nice to a newfangled wild child bride who wants fresh and funky!

Classic and Elegant

The classic and elegant bride is anything but stale!  If you think classic weddings are gaudy affairs dripping in lace, flowers, and pink—think again!  Channel Audrey Hepburn when planning your classic wedding and use quality items that exude elegance.  Remember the “less is more” approach to elegance and avoid anything that is too over the top.  Consider dresses with beautiful lines that are truly timeless and bouquets that are tidy collections of flowers affixed with a classic satin ribbon.  Serve a traditional tiered wedding cake and give your guests Jordan almonds, chocolates, or petit fours as a wedding favor.

Hip and Chic

If you are all about the trends, then you are probably a hip and chic bride!  Look at popular wedding magazines to determine what is all the rage and what is definitely out!  Hot trends today include monogrammed everything—from personalized wedding favor to great invitations.  Instead of one large cake, provide each guest with their own individual cake, or even a unique idea like cupcakes!  Deck your bridesmaids in splashy colors and chic dresses and turn your aisle into a runway.  Instead of a traditional veil, consider wearing a unique accessory like a feathered headband to top your wedding day ‘do.

Natural and Ethereal

The natural and ethereal bride enjoys the great outdoors in all its forms.  Whether you are a beach beauty or a mountain goddess, look to Mother Nature to provide all the decoration you need.  Outdoor weddings are all the rage, so consider having your natural nuptials in a destination that is a treat for all of your guests.  Include all aspects of your natural wedding into the planning, from the destination to the food to the dress to the wedding reception favor.  Take a page out of Julia Robert’s book and walk down the aisle sans shoes or allow your groom to ditch the penguin suit for a comfortable pair of khakis and a billowing white shirt.  The natural bride is all about the unique and extraordinary aspects that nature offers.

Whatever kind of bride you are, be sure to remember to plan your special day around the wants of you and your groom.  Although you may consider hiring a wedding planner, remember to make sure he or she works with your ideas and thoughts to create a wedding that best fits you and you groom.
